On Friday, November 15, 2024, the Computer Science and Information Technology Students’ Association (CITSA) at the University of Cape Coast hosted the highly anticipated Plug & Play event, themed “Akwaaba Movie Night.” Held in Auditorium 900 at 7:00 PM, the evening combined entertainment, socialization, and creative activities, making it a night to remember for all who attended.
The “Akwaaba Movie Night” theme perfectly captured the essence of the event: welcoming both freshers and continuing students into a vibrant community. CITSA’s Entertainment Committee, under the Johnny LED Administration, curated a relaxed atmosphere where participants could enjoy various activities, including:
-
Indoor Games: From board games to interactive digital contests, these activities broke the ice and fostered friendly competition among attendees.
-
Socialization: Students took the opportunity to mingle, share experiences, and build lasting connections within the department.
-
Movie Night: The highlight of the evening featured a specially selected film that brought everyone together to laugh, learn, and reflect.
-
Karaoke: Adding a lively twist, karaoke sessions encouraged participants to showcase their vocal talents—or simply have fun trying!
Beyond the fun and games, Plug & Play served as a platform for networking and community building. By bringing together students from various year groups, the event reinforced the sense of camaraderie that CITSA continually strives to promote. Newcomers were warmly introduced to departmental culture, while senior students offered insights and mentorship to those eager to learn more about the journey ahead.
With Plug & Play deemed a resounding success, CITSA continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering an inclusive, dynamic environment for students. The event was more than just a night of entertainment—it was a testament to the power of collaboration, creativity, and shared experiences.
